SCOPES Health
Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 6, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information SCOPES Health ("SCOPES Health," "we," "us") collects when you visit scopeshealthcare.com (the "Website"), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.
It applies only to this Website. It does not cover the medical care we provide, which is described in the next section.
1. Your medical information is covered separately
When you become a patient, the health information we create and receive in the course of your care is protected health information under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the California Confidentiality of Medical Information Act (CMIA). How we use and disclose that information is described in our Notice of Privacy Practices, which you can request at any of our offices or by calling (661) 241-9330.
This Website is designed to share information about our practice, not to collect medical information. Please do not send us details about your health through the Website. To discuss your care, call our office.
2. Information we collect
The Website has no account registration, contact forms or online payments. The search boxes on our Conditions and Treatments pages work entirely in your browser; what you type there is not sent to us.
We collect the following information automatically when you use the Website:
- Device and browser information, such as browser type and version, operating system, screen size and language settings.
- Usage information, such as the pages you view, how long you stay, the page that referred you to the Website, and the date and time of your visit.
- Interactions with the Website, such as tapping a call button, opening directions to one of our locations, or switching between English and Spanish. These records do not include your phone number or anything said during a call.
- Network information, such as your IP address, which our analytics provider uses to estimate your general location (for example, city or region) and which our hosting provider records in security and server logs.
If you call us, the information you share during the call is handled by our staff and, once you are a patient, is protected as described in our Notice of Privacy Practices.
4. How we use information
- To operate, maintain and secure the Website.
- To remember your language preference.
- To understand which pages and services are most useful to visitors and to improve the Website.
- To measure how often visitors call us or request directions, so we can make it easier to reach our offices.
- To comply with legal obligations and to protect the rights, property and safety of our patients, staff and others.
6. How long we keep information
We keep Website information only as long as needed for the purposes described above. Google Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in our Google Analytics account and is then deleted. Server and security logs kept by our hosting provider are deleted on a rolling basis.
7. Security
The Website is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and access to analytics data is limited to authorized staff and service providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your choices
- Cookies: you can block or delete cookies through your browser settings.
- Google Analytics: you can opt out of Google Analytics on all websites by installing Google's opt-out browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
- Do Not Track: some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. Because there is no common standard for responding to it, the Website does not change its behavior when it receives one. We do not track visitors across other websites.
9. Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, you may have the following rights regarding personal information we collect through the Website, subject to the exceptions in the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, the "CCPA"):
- Right to know what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it and with whom we shared it.
- Right to request a copy of that personal information.
- Right to request deletion of personal information we collected from you.
- Right to request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. As stated above, we do not sell or share personal information.
- Right not to be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
To make a request, call us at (661) 241-9330 or write to us at the address in the Contact us section. We will need to verify your identity before responding, and you may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We will respond within 45 days, or let you know if we need more time as permitted by law.
Medical information protected by HIPAA or the California Confidentiality of Medical Information Act is governed by those laws and our Notice of Privacy Practices rather than the CCPA.
Under California's "Shine the Light" law (Civil Code § 1798.83), California residents may ask whether we have disclosed personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. We do not make such disclosures.
10. Children's privacy
The Website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them through the Website. If you believe a child has provided us personal information through the Website, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Links to other websites
The Website links to services we do not control, such as Google Maps. Their own privacy policies apply when you use them.
12. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page and change the "Last updated" date. If we make significant changes, we will also display a notice on the Website.
